Hotel Watertoren West
Rising high above the rooftops of Groningen, Hotel Watertoren West is not just a place to stay — it’s a statement. As one of the tallest water towers in the Netherlands, this monumental structure of brick and steel was originally built under the direction of the city’s own architect, Dr. Mulock Houwer.
Up until 2013, it held vast volumes of water in two giant waterreservoirs. Recently transformed into a design hotel with a powerful industrial character, the tower still reflects its rich history in every corridor, every apartment, and every meeting room.It is a true urban icon — now repurposed for modern business needs.
